Creating the image Nature Patterns and four variations nature patterns 1

The InterplayArt image Nature Patterns is about Lucis InterplayArt and cropping. Many times you will not like the full image but the Lucis InterplayArt image has numerous areas which by themselves are art. The two images I used are below. Image 1 will be called Stream and Image 2 will be called River (for brevity's sake). Stream is the main image and River will be used to create the pattern.

Image 1: Trees and rocks by a stream. This image will be referred to as Stream. Image 2: A turbulent river over boulders. This image will be referred to as simply River.
I started by processing River with Lucis, Single Channel Mode, Smooth Detail slider set to 1 and Enhance Detail slider set to 177 (see Image 3 below). Then I bought Image 3 back into Lucis and processed it with Lucis again, Single Channel Mode, Smooth Detail slider set to 1 and Enhance Detail slider set to 177 (see Image 3 below). Processing the image twice with Lucis makes it very detailed.

Image 3: River processed once with Lucis, Single Channel Mode, Smooth Detail slider set to 1 and Enhance Detail slider set to 177 Image 4: River processed twice with Lucis, both time with the Lucis settings Single Channel Mode, Smooth Detail slider set to 1 and Enhance Detail slider set to 177
Next I placed a copy of Stream on one layer with 85% opacity and a copy of River processed twice with Lucis on the layer below with 100% opacity. Then I merged these two layers. The merged image is below. The detail from the twice-Lucis-processed River image looks faint but it will become much more vivid when the merged image is processed with Lucis.

Image 5: The merged image. This image is the combination of Stream at 85% opacity merged with River processed twice with Lucis at 100% opacity.
I used Split Channel Mode in Lucis. The slider settings I choose were the Smooth Detail slider set to 1 and the Enhance Detail slider set to 47 for the Red Channel, the Smooth Detail slider set to 1 and the Enhance Detail slider set to 179 for the Green Channel, and the Smooth Detail slider set to 1 and the Enhance Detail slider set to 179 for the Blue Channel. Because I enhanced the detail in the Red Channel so much more than the other two channels the image was very red. So I moved the Assign Original Image Color slider to 0% Processed/100% Original to remove the color shifts. The result is shown below.

Image 6: The final image resulting from processing the merged image (Image 5) with Lucis, Split Channel Mode, the Smooth Detail slider set to 1 and the Enhance Detail slider set to 47 for the Red Channel, the Smooth Detail slider set to 1 and the Enhance Detail slider set to 179 for the Green Channel, and the Smooth Detail slider set to 1 and the Enhance Detail slider set to 179 for the Blue Channel, the Assign Original Image Color slider set to 0% Processed/100% Original.
Well I did not like this image as a whole. But I loved pieces of it. Some of my selections are shown in the images below. Just scroll down.
